Does a high end TV make a difference as a monitor?

I'm using a dual monitor setup with a Samsung UN60D7000VF http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN60D7000VFXZA
and a Samsung PN50C8000YF
http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/PN50C8000YFXZA

I understand that the TV's only use 60Hz as input but am I benefiting from the Clear Motion Rate of 720 on the 60 LED or the Subfield motion on the 50 plasma? or would my PC display the same picture quality on a lower end 6000 series for 1/3 the price? I know how it works while watching a 24 fps Blu-ray and the tv processor makes the frames between the input frames to make a smoother picture but does this benefit me while playing games at ~60 fps or is the benefit lost at the input rate from PC? I use Vsync.

AMD 1090T @ 3.8
MSI GTX580 Ligtning Extreme ed 3Gb

planning to upgrade to haswell and 3rd monitor with 780s or 790 soon

I have no use for all the smart TV features or the 3D features of the TVs. I got the high end models because of the contrast and picture quality. I'm really looking for a barebones big screen with great picture quality for PC use.

OK heres what I know I use 2 32 inch tv as monitors both work fine crisp as a monitor but keep in mind the real estate and the problem in our living room I have a 42 inch tv we have a htpc hook up to it ok its easy on eyes its crisp but its at a distance ok the 2 other pc,s I used are 2 to 3 foot away from me using 32 inch screens ok heat blur after some time you remember the old saying don't sit too close to the tv well now it is true but I use a Samsung for 1 pc and a cheap ass element for the other and I see no difference everything does work well my g friend has a 24 monitor yet I cant see the dam screen much anymore need glasses getting old so its all up to you what you prefer.

Thanks for the response JohnnyB,

What I'm really looking for is an explanation on the technical side of lets say a 60"LED 1080p/60Hz vs a 60"LED 1080p advertised as 120/240/720Hz when the input is from a high end graphics card opposed to a Blu-ray or cable box.
