i have a win2003 server with 2 NIC..
i want my server to be used as a gateway for internet+proxy+firewall+ftp. but i am unable to figure out that how it will b done in one system!!
i also want to do content filtering and block unwanted web sites..
and i want the server to log every activity on my network such as what site is accessed at what time and from which IP..
here what i am trying to do is:
MyNetwork-->Server-->Router-->internet

thanks for help in advance:)

Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are a bit better for this than Windows Server 2003.

The built in service that you are looking for is called "Routing and Remote Access". This will allow you to route traffic from one NIC to another, effectively turning the server into a gateway.

To filter website content you must use the Routing and Remote Access Packet Filtering feature. Do not attempt to use TCP/IP filtering, this will only work for inbound connections and may prevent you from accessing the server if you are not careful!

Firewall is self explanatory. The firewall that ships with Windows Server works great.

Thank you very much!! :) it will be of great help. i too wanted to use win2008/R2 but the machine is bit old and the h/w will not be compatible with it, so i have to stick with 2003server or linuxOS..
