hey guys just wanted to post this as wanna make people aware of cheap components out there. yesterday afternoon i was on my computer like normal when i smelt burning plastic (could be sure tho as the mrs was cooking lol) my computer then shout down at the time i thought it was bue to me overclocking to much and not having the fans on high i was wrong the computer keep turning off more i then thought something must be wrong with my copy of windows as i could get into safe mode but not normal windows after a while this wasnt the case either. last night i tore my computer apart testing all components from ram to fan controllers to gpu then to my h70 everything seemed ok. i then went to change my psu over for an old one when i saw i had black paint on my fingers i didnt no where the paint had come from when i pulled my 8 pin plug out and the 4 pin plug i saw straight away there was burn marks and melted plastic on the wires.
both wires had burnt out i have no idea why i brought 2 extention cables over a year ago as the ocz fatality psu cables are really short for putting cables around the back of the case.
i wanna make people more aware that buying cheap shit (cables) aint good the more i think about it the i think that if i had keep this on over night and it had happened i could have wiped my whole family out with a fire. luckley this wasnt the case.
make sure u buy good quality components or the worst might happen....
