What's the difference between Caviar Black and Blue?
Also, do you think that WD HDD is worth the price?

WD 500GB 16MB Caviar Blue

What does the 16MB in the above example mean?

thank you.

Black is just a high performing version of the drive.
I personally like and use the WD brand drives and have not had any problems with them.
The 16 MB is referring to the amount of cache in the drive. Cache is simply RAM that buffers the data as it is read from the drive. The more cache, the more data that the drive can "pre-read" while the computer is busy doing other things. Also if the data that the machine requests is already in the cache, then the drive doesn't have to read it again, giving you faster access to the data.

I see. Thank you for that explanation.
