Greetings all... Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction with a strange issue I'm having with my desktop. I've had a working desktop for years now and just upgraded some components -- I recently bought an Asus rampage IV extreme mobo, 1200w psu and an Intel i7 CPU. A month or so ago I also purchased a GTX690 which worked fine with my previous mobo.

Here's the problem: after upgrading with the new equipment, occasionally it would suddenly crash and my monitor would go to black saying no dvi signal. One time I noticed it crashed after I had adjusted my chair, so I rebooted it, waited for the desktop to load, and gave the case a light tap and it happened again. I figured it was a bad connection somewhere so I tried my best to tighten everything possible but it still happens. Since all the components are new, it's hard for me to pinpoint which one is giving me the trouble -- a faulty wire in the psu? faulty motherboard? maybe the video card (unlikely since it worked fine with my previous mobo). Anyone have a suggestion/experienced a similar problem?

Thank you in advance!

I recently moved my computer and had a similar issue. It ended up being the cable going into the monitor was loose. I pulled it out and pushed it back and haven't had the no input signal since. It sounds like you tried the connections in the tower, what about at the monitor?

thanks for the reply, i tried securing that connection too, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the problem. The whole computer will crash, i had a song playing on spotify and the music will stop and become unresponsive. I'm starting the think I should request an RMA with the motherboard first...
