Hi I'm planning to upgrade my system to a Z77 sabertooth motherboard but the 4 SATA 3 ports are split between 2 Intel and 2 ASMedia ports, my question is if it is possible to run a raid configuration with 4 SSD drives with different controllers?

Solution
No, you can't create a single RAID array with 2 different controllers using firmware RAID (BIOS).

You would have to use software RAID (Windows); and with software RAID your array would have to be a secondary drive; you wouldn't be able to boot from it.
