Okay, so im building a Pc running windows vista 32 bit (from my old hdd) with a 550 Watt PSU, MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard, AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7660D AD580KWOHJBOX
, with an 8 gb DDr3 stick of ram. When I put this whole thing togeather, will it start?. And the CPU is 64 bit. And can i upgrade later to windows 7?

Should work, though if you don't reinstall Windows there's a serious risk of problems, with Windows and drivers etc. being set up for the hardware in your old computer.
And 32-bit Windows won't let you use all of the 8 GB RAM. You can fix that when you upgrade to Windows 7 though, by getting the 64-bit version.
And one stick of 8 GB will reduce performance compared to two sticks of 4 GB.

Hi austxxskater!

When you say you're using an old HDD from a previous system, does this mean that you'll be using an entirely new motherboard? If the answer is Yes, then you will have to reinstall a new OS.

Yes, you have to every single time you perform a major change of hardware like this. Windows won't recognize the old drivers from the old system and will lead to serious system conflicts.

okay il switch to two sticks of ram 4 gb of ram. And im buying everything except a new harddrive and OS. When i get another 200 im biying a SSD with windows 7. And how do i reinstall the OS? i know there was a trojan on the os so when i reinstall it will that also be removed? and will it wipe all of my personal data?

Reinstalling is just a matter of putting the Windows disc in the DVD drive and setting BIOS to boot from the DVD drive. Then you can choose to format the hard drive and install Windows. That gets rid of everything on the drive though, so make a backup of your data. It should get rid of the trojan too.
