Hey guys,
Just finished gathering my components for my new build. Sort of a budget system but should yield great performance. Wondering if the 500w Thermaltake TR2 500w PSU w/cable management, would be enough to power a PowerColor 7950 Boost. I plan on upgrading the PS later on as I plan on doing some OC'ing. Just don't have the means to do so right now. Damn med bills.....
Will this work stock for the time being?
Thanks Much
Other system specs:
Amd Fx 6100
4gb Ram ( throwing another 4gb stick in shortly)
Biostar TA 970
1 500gb HDD
LG Optical Drive

Oh and here is the GPU in question:

A good PSU isn't a bad investment. For example, if you get a gold certified PSU, then it's

more expensive initially, but over the course of a few years you'll save money on the electrical bill.

Due to the efficiency. A bad PSU can also fry your system.

Yeah figured. Alright, would I be alright on the current one or should i just can it and upgrade anyways. I mean thats 70 bucks I could be putting towards the PSU at this point. Also have another thread about the PowerColor 7950 versus a 660ti if you know anything about it.

Definitely getting the PowerColor or the MSI 7950. According to different sources the 7950 pulls 180w MAX. So 95w for the cpu. Say 50w for the mobo. Another 100 for the fans and drives Comes to 425w. That would be @ max as well. So according to that math I should be okay for a few weeks until I upgrade correct? Idk why people say the TR2 is so bad. Seems to have a ton of good reviews on TigerDirect and Newegg
