Can I use Nvidia card for gaming and a AMD card for mining

Hi right now I have an: i5 3570k, asrock extreme 4, 750 wat psu, and a 2tb hdd.
I want to know if I can get a GTX 770 and then a 5970 for mining. So I would have my monitor hooked up to my 770 while the 5970 mining in the background while I am playing games. Is this possible?

No. You can use a amd card as a primary one and a nvidia card as a physx but that's not the case here.
  2. Sifatraquib, why can't you? I know of no reason why it won't work. Might want to find a mining forum as they would have a better idea.
  3. Not to mention that mining is very quickly becoming something that used to be profitable.
  4. K thanks for the imput I just want to make sure before I spend money on it.

I think it would work too. But in the comments here:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-770-gk104-review,3519.html

BigMack70 says he is mining using a pair of overclocked 7970s and making .03 BTC a day and that amount is decreasing. Looks like ASIC miners have taken over.
  6. Ah! Thanks a lot guys. I came to know something new.
