At some point, someone is going to have to make the choice of which OS or drive to boot into. The PC can't know who is sitting behind the keyboard.

Be it GRUB, or Windows multiboot, or boot order in the BIOS...some human is going to have to make the choice.

I believe that most motherboards have a boot menu that is accessible by hitting a certain key at bootup (just like hitting the "Delete" key to get to BIOS). My Gigabyte motherboard bootmenu can be reached by hitting the F12 key repeatedly (during bootup), and my ASRock motherboard by hitting the F11 key. I would set the wife's hard drive as default boot, then use the motherboard's boot menu to access the other.
