My home gateway modem/wireless router has bit the bullet. And I want to Know if i can connect a stand alone ADSL2+ modem to a separate NetCom N300 wireless router to do the same job as the home gateway. So that the router allows the other devices to join the network wireless at the same time my pc is connected via Ethernet cable.

I've tried connecting the two devices to no success. Is it related to network settings or not possible at all ?

It is certainly possible, make sure the ethernet cable from the modem is connected to the uplink port on the wireless router.
Usually there are 4 ports + 1 port for the uplink on the router.
