Hi All. I’m planning to build an AMD variant PC, would like to experience their A10-5800k APU. My question is, which FM2 board would you recommend? Should I go to an A75 series or A85 series? I have no plans adding GPU but planning to upgrade with A10-6800k once released.

Asrock extreme 6 is more appealing because it has Virtu MVP but quite expensive.

I prefer ASRock mobo to test their Xfast features. Everything is set aside from motherboard.

My Specs:
CPU: AMD A10-5800k
RAM: G.Skill RipJaws 2x4gb ddr3 1866
Storage: Seagate 1TB 64mb
PSU: Seasonic M12II 620watts 80plus bronze
Case:Raidmax Raptor (for experiment)
Motherboard: -- ???

Please be reminded I have no plans adding GPU. Feel free to give advice and it would be highly appreciated.
Thank You.

There's no different in performance when using the same APU between an A75 and an A85 mobo.

The Pro4-m can push the A10 to 4.5ghz base even with stock cooler, so 4.2ghz shouldn't cause problems. Gigabyte A75 or even their matx A85 don't have a heatsink for mosfet so OCing on those board isn't something to encourage. Asrock FM2A75 Pro4-M is a good candidate overall.

FM2A75 Pro4 ( the atx one ) really worth 5$ more, too, if you don't mind a bigger board, not just at additional usb3.0 ports but also due to better board layout ( folded SATA connectors ), Debug LED to show if something's wrong and BIOS reset button in case your OC attempt failed.
Virtu MVP is quite useless, and even more useless if you don't plan to add a discrete vga later. As for motherboard, if you don't have the desire to OC your APU or only want to do it lightly, then Asrock A75 pro4-m is a good candidate, or get Pro4 if you need to connect a lot of usb3 devices. If you want to do some serious OC, then get gigabyte ga f2a85x-d3h. More expensive boards with hefty heatsink are wastes of money for daily use and you should think about using AM3+ cpus and boards instead, along with discrete vga if your budget can go that high.

As for A75 vs A85x, the biggest different is that A85x offers 8 sata3 ports instead of 6, and they [often] have more options for overclockers.

This is very informative answer. Thank you so much.

Regarding performance, is there any difference between A75 and A85 for my specs aside from number of satas?

If I OC my CPU to 4.2 base, do you think Asrock A75 pro4-m can accommodate?

Should I go with Asrock a75 or Gigabyte a75 series?

In the future I will try their FX-8350 for AM3+ mobo together XFX 7870 DD. need to save money 
