I was playing league of legends one day and notice small lag spikes. Then when i come back 7 hours later, I see some lag spikes rarely and then notice my internet disconnected. I try to go on the router IP, and I couldn't connect. I change ports on my router, still nothing. 10 minutes later, randomly it re-connects and i notice longer lag spikes and more lag spikes, like frequent ones. Then it disconnects 10-15 minutes later and doesn't connect back.

The next day i experiment using different ethernet chords and ports and it doesn't work. Yet, when I plug in that same chord, it works on the laptop. I concluded the NIC and ethernet port stopped working. I give a support ticket to the ASRock manufacturer and he tells me to uninstall drivers and re-install from a provided link. I did that and still nothing.... It has to be hardware issues. No reason for a PC operating for a year perfectly, since the last windows re-install to randomly stop connecting to the internet.

The motherboard is ASRock z68 extreme 3 gen 3

My friend suggested me to buy one of those pci NICs or ethernet adapters. I believe there might be more major problems and I want to take advantage of the warranty.

What do you guys suggest, thanks.

Check and see if the Ethernet lights on the back of the PC near the port are on and what color they are when you try to use the internet.

green light — A good connection @ 10-Mbps

orange light — A good connection @ 100-Mbps

off (no light) — No connection to the network.

(Blinking yellow light indicates network activity)
