I'm buying a laptop for casual gaming soon and am not sure about what type of storage. I have enough room for 1 2.5" drive so it's either the WD Black 7200rpm or a 500GB Seagate Momentous XT 5200rpm. Both drives are the same price on PC Specialist where I will buy my laptop. These are the priorities I would want in order Reliability>Speed>Noise>Space. Based on that, which drive would be better?

WD Black is not a good HDD to put on laptops, since it generates tons of heat and consume a bit more power than other mainstream HDDs. The Momentus XT, on the other hand, should be cooler while bring better speed due to the SSD cache it has.

This, but not because of the heat. I've had a Scorpio Black in my Asus notebook until I replaced it with an SSD. I've never had any problems with it.

Its capacity is only 2/3 of the WD Black so it's not that too good to be true ;) And yes, it's reliable.
