Need a new desk

The desk that I have at the moment is wey too small for everything that I have on it, and there is no room behind to hide all the various USB, power cables, DVI cables, etc. that I have and it looks like a mess. I need the desk to be at ikea, larger than 23"x47", and have the space behind it for cables, and maybe enough to hide some speakers and a small subwoofer. I was looking at the desk Bestå, but that is too small. Any suggestions?

about 7ft by almost 3ft, it cost me a total of $50. a local retail store was doing a facelift and was trashing some old display tables so i grabbed one for free and put a formica veneer top on it. we had some panduit laying around so i screwed it in and used it to hide all the cables which it does very nicely and 10x better than anything included on any consumer grade desk i've ever seen. i'd suggest looking around for any old kitchen tables or any other sort of desk similar to what i found on craigslist or at local retail stores and doing some face-lift work on it. i stand on the desk all the time to reach an upper shelf which you can not do with most desks you buy.

i would avoid buying ikea as 50% of it is trendy futuristic junk. there are a few nice pieces here and there but most of it is flakeboard fall-apart junk kit furniture. real wood desks are too expensive which is why i suggested getting a freebie you can repair or facelift.

I would seem to have one of the "good" IKEA desks, the Jerker plus an additional shelf is pretty amazing. If you can find one second hand it definitely is a good buy.

I think the closest to it currently available is the Galant, though havent looked in a fair while.

That Model-M looks very out of place amongst all the glossy black hardware

i'm not against ikea... i just dont like flakeboard kit furniture in general. its very practical and generally low cost but it doesnt hold up well.

that setup is an old photo... my brother managed to kill my newer ibm keyboard (1991 compared with my old 1985 ver) by spilling a glass of vodka directly down into the circuits. yep thats good for it. i've been wanting to get new parts for it and do a rebuild though!

this is a more recent photo:
