Looking for a new PC build for a budget of no more than $800. I will need an operating system also as I don't currently own any. Would need everything, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc. Thanks ahead of time.

Want to use this for gaming, would like to try Crysis but probably mainly for current MMOs. Just want to see what my options are.

just stating this before someone builds this, with an OS, Monitor,Mouse and Tv the actual budget for this will result in about a $450 pc build i would assume and with that your majority will be sent to the GPU which on crysis will prob be playing on Low/Medium just to let you know

Gagcoughhakk! NOPE! This ain't 2004! Squintsville lo-res is passe! You need a 27" 2560x1440 monitor, and anyrate can't game (Pacman anyone haha) even on a 24" monitor with a cheapo NV-650 !
My cost estimate = $1200 for a serious lamr ... er gamr still holds.

Troll much??
The guy stated his budget and instead of offering him a solution with what he's got available, you shoot him down. Way to contribute...

not helpful at all.

the OP's budget is his budget. We're trying to help him build a gaming system for that budget. please add something constructive to this conversation or leave this thread.

OP, the system i put together for you will game fine. but it probably won't handle crysis3... you'll need to spring for a better gpu to have a prayer at that monster. it will overclock moderately (and with some personal modifications to the motherboard, it will overclock aggressively), i'm not happy with the psu, but your budget really limits the options available. the 7850 is a solid graphics card, though i think an extra $100 would really help bring up the specs of your system by allowing a 7870xt for your gpu, you have to work with what you've got.

You have certainly cherry-picked the CPU/graphics-card OKey, but why tolerate a monitor that was small in 2007?

It should work with the 2.0 but the 3.0 on the mono would be useless unless you get an expander

I like ingtar33 build though I would Add you don't need to spend the $34 to buy an after market CPU fan unless you plan to OC. Since the cpu linked is Boxed it will come with a Fan. Also for the mouse/keyboard you can always see if the local walmart or Fry's (or even a friend) have any for the same price or cheaper if you don't want to wait for shipping. The last the monitor is subjective that's a good monitor that he suggested but you maybe able to catch a good local deal or price match for mabye $20 cheaper. Though I would just make sure its at 1080p, at least 22inch (but really up to you) and has a 5ms or better repsonse time.

It was the OP's request to play Crisis 3 that made me go with the aftermarket cooler. If he is ever going to play crisis 3, he'll need to overclock, both the cpu and gpu pretty aggressively. Since it doesn't seem possible to play it at that price range (particularly since he's looking for both a monitor and OS) i figured i'd give him the best chance possible to play it on medium/low with reduced resolution.

As to the monitor, that's a 23.6" monitor, with 1080p resolution and 2ms response time. not sure you'll do better for $120 bucks.
