I have the following SSD setup as OS boot-drive in my current gaming rig :
Corsair Force 3 Series 60GB SATAIII 6.0GBps.
Now, only 9GB is left on it although I haven't installed game files in it.

I want to upgrade to a 120/180GB SSD now;I'm looking up the SSD Hierarchy Chart 2013 :-

Your suggestions would be helpful !!

As for the 60GB SSD, I'd like to transform it into an external storage.
Suggest me some good SATA III SSD Enclosures with USB3.0

I normally recommend Samsung solid state drives due to their excellent performance and reliability. Crucial, Intel, and Plextor are also worth considering.

I maintain the ssd database listed in the sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link

Scroll down to the brands and models you are interested in and follow the links to the technical reviews.

How do you want to connect an external ssd to you computer. Do you want to use an eSATA connection or a USB 3.0 connection?

I'd prefer a USB3.0 connection.

As for the SSD upgrade, the following is my present config :

CPU - Intel Core i5-2500K
Mobo - Asrock Z77 Extreme4
RAM - Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz 8 GB
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM
GPU - Asus Nvidia GTX550Ti 1GB GDDR5
PSU - Corsair CX500
CPU Cooler - CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo

Does the existing Corsair Force 3 60GB ssd have any sort of compatibility issues with Asrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard? I found the following article about compatibility issues -

Samsung, Crucial, Intel, and Plextor was suggested - are they comaptible with this rig?
