Sata Port issue in the Bios AsRock x79 mobo

Only 2 Sata ports on my motherboard are being recognized in the bios as bootable devices. All of the other ones do indeed work and I can access the drives in the OS but I cannot use them to boot. So far I have been booting from the CD-ROM with the Windows OS disk inside and having to choose a volume every single time. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

I think that there are 9 total. I have 1 optical drive and 1 HDD currently plugged into the 2 sata ports that work as bootable devices, and I have 2 other hard drives outside of those two.

Well I just assumed that maybe there was something wrong if it wasn't giving me the option to boot from them all. It has been kind of a pain switching them all around so much and what not.

There is nothing like that. However, there is an option called hard drive BBS priorities, and all of the drives show up there, but they still don't show up under boot option properties which the bios seems to take priority over.

That is curious.
I've never heard of a BIOS than doesn't have a boot order list.

Since I don't know how to fix this, I can only suggest that you figure out which 2 SATA ports are the bootable ones, and connect your hardrive that contains the OS and your optical drive to those ports.
It's a bit of a pain, but it should only take a few minutes :p

Sorry I couldn't be of any more help :(
