GTX 780 - worth buying or not?

Hi guys,

I am currently using a 2010 MacBook Pro with a freaking gt330m on it. Since it cannot even handle most games in 2012 well, I guess it's time for me to build a gaming PC.

I came across this inno3D GTX 780 OC with triple fans on it. Test from another site shows that it actually outperforms GTX Titan by 4% overall. This really amazed me, since it's only about half the price of Titan and delivers great value per performance.

The problem is, should I wait until late 2013 for Radeon HD 9970? Leaks say that it will be using a new architecture and could potentially be a game changer as well as a competitor to Maxwell. I dunno man, should i just buy a GTX 780 or wait for another several months?

Do you guys have any clue about what is HD 9970 up to? If it only outperforms a little then i wouldnt mind to upgrade to GTX 780 soon, but if the difference is huge then I will probably get insomnia...

Don't worry there is ALWAYS something better coming.If you get gtx 780 then 4 months later AMD 9970 will be stronger then if you get 9970 4 months later Nvidia Maxwell gtx880 will be better and then again 4months later AMD xxxx..don't worry about that. Gtx 780 is best card now and it will last for years.You want to know how much is good? It outperforms gtx 680 by 20-25%,and gtx 680 is card that runs not even released Unreal Engine 4 in 60fps.Enough said. Go for 780 its a beast,90%of Titan for 400$ cheaper.(yours even outperform it).Price is still ridiculous high but if if you have money go for it,i know i would. New Haswell will probably come in few days+ paired with gtx 780 you have a very nice setup.

True, but there are things that people are quite certain about Volcanic Islands, such as 20nm technology and greater performance than GTX 780( AMD isn't dumb enough to make a worse graphics card :D).

I think at this stage it's all about speculation and expectation isn't it?:)

I'm not sure about that. Every rumour in past few months for ps4,xbone,gtx 700 series were true

Yeah but they probably leaked them out on purpose to keep the people excited and anticipated. Eh well, I choose not to trust them, but if other people do then what the heck.

Even when the new AMD cards will be released, the GTX 780 and 770 will perform like a beast, take for example an ATI RadeonHD 5870, you can max every game with it, considering you have a good CPU, ram, and a high-end mobo.
