Hi All
I'm looking to build a pc and I'm planning on running lubuntu on it.
It will to be used fore email, basic office work and media viewing.

Hence I want it to be able to play full screen HDMI: youtube, BBC Iplayer , XBMC.
I'd also like it to be nice and 'snappy' when doing so.

The problem arises because I'd like to minimize the following in this order
1) power consumption
2) noise
3) size
4) price

How low can I go without loosing quality or response time?

Any suggestions gratefully received .

Thanks in advance.

Hi Someone Somewhere
Thanks for your reply. I will check it out.
I was wondering about which mini boards might be capable but didn't know which CPUs would do the job.

The MB doesn't matter much, unless you want to OC (and most m-ITX boards are pretty hopeless). I'd be looking at Intel out of lower power consumption, and thus heat and noise. Could also go for an Ivy Celeron or Pentium, though you lose Hyperthreading, and the graphics are worse.

Or get a BGA-based board, e.g. something with an E-350 or Atom.
