Hi,i have currently the M4A78LT-M motherboard with 2x 4gb ddr 1600 vengeance ram and amd 1100t be cpu,i built this system just over a year ago and have started noticing stuttering in games and flash content,my desktop also seems a little twitchy as if vsync or hz settings aren't right.

I thought it was my gtx460 graphics card but i am getting the same issue with the onboard graphics throughout everything i try to run,i have tested ram for 10 hours in memtest but found no error,i have replaced my cpu cooler with a new one zalman top flower, gave the pc a clean and added new system fan,my temps are cpu 32c idle graphics 36c idle mobo 30c idle -- cpu under full load 38c-42c - gpu under full load 58c - 62c - chipset mobo - 35c-38c

even with my stock temps,i can get into a game in seconds and the stuttering is apparent right away, temps don't jump up to high abnormally but it is like there is a constant interference that seems to drag the system down.

I have inspected the board for faults and have found a yellow/gold colour around some of the chips next to my sata sockets, these chips are not capacitors but are small square black chips that are flat on the board with a silver plate behind them however i have no idea if this is normal or not,all four of these chips have the same yellow marks around them, they do not look right to me.

I can only come to the conclusion i need to replace my motherboard,i really hope the fault is not my cpu but i have been told a faulty cpu could perform in the way described so i ask my question .....

If i replace the board,i would like to have full am3+ support and also ddr 1600 ram support for my cpu and ram but i would like to get the best possible board so i hope i do not have the same issue again but i require a micro atx board, uATX Form Factor as it's all i can fit in my antec media centre case.

Thanks and regards

Paddy

Thanks,i had looked at this board but wasn't sure if there was anything better,i think the board i have currently might be slightly better than the gigabyte but i don't want to get the same board for the reasons stated before,do you think i am right in saying my board is damaged ? i can only come to that conclusion but i am not 100 percent on it,could a bad cpu cause these stutters, also i tried taking my graphics card out again last night and tested onboard graphics only,it seems the onboard graphics cant even run unreal tournament 1 at the lowest settings and at 640x480 without stutter and a strange framerate fluctuation.

After reading a bit about this board,i see it doesn't support 1600 ram but can be overclocked,i don't like overclocking, also the bios needs to be updated in order to use some of the newer chips,i don't know if my cpu is supported at stock bios, the board is kind of cheap to me,i would be willing to spend double the price for an all round good board that can really deliver to my cpu and graphics, this is the main problem as all the new boards support the new amd chipset,i have no idea if phenom is supported now.

anyway thank you for looking for this board for me

Yes the board seems damaged. And no, the gigabyte board I suggested is better than the one you're using due to additional mosfet cooler, usb3.0 ports and many Gigabyte-exclusive addons to ensure the durability of your system, like Dual Bios.
