My files in my USB are turned into shortcut

every time i copy things in my USB's.. they turn in to shortcut. i tied scanning my laptop using AVG but no threats or infection found. and even when i scan the USB is the same story. pls help me

I think that's a virus. Something kinda similar happened to my wife's usb that she uses at work. I have McAfee and it cleaned something then all that are left are shortcuts and her files are changed to hidden files. Just don't format the usb until you are sure no files are left hidden or anything.
