Hello,

PC config

AMD Athlon 2GHz
M/B ASUS M2N-MX
RAM 3GB (1GBx3)
HDD 500 GB Sata
Graphics Quadro Fx 1500
OS Win XP 32 Bit SP2

My pc restarted (without booting completely in win) 3-4 times due to some power failure in my UPS and now after power problem is resolved suddenly it stopped booting up in to windows. It hangs up at windows xp screen and wont proceed.

I tried booting in last known config. but it failed. Booting in safe mode will stop my PC at ntfs.sys and after looooong time restart again

Is it corrupted windows or hardware that is failing ?

best wishes...
thanks

Sounds as though there's an error in the file system so it's best to take the disk out, slave it to another machine where you can run Checkdisk. The syntax will be chkdsk x: /r where x is the letter allocated to that disk once it's in the other computer. The /r switch will tell it to try to fix any disk errors it finds.
Tap the Function 8 key as you power up and you should see the extended Advanced Boot menu which includes "Disable automatic restart on system failure". Selecting that option will make a blue screen remain on long enough for you to read the Stop Error message - it's probably flashing by too quickly to see at the moment.

Post back the details of the message - just the 0x0000?? and ANY-_WORDS_JOINED_UP by underscores and someone will be able to help further.
