Hi everyone,

My integrated sound chipset on my ASRock Extreme3 stopped working after plugging a graphics card in. It seems like I'm not the only one having this problem on ASRock's boards (I'm still waiting for their support to reply me on the issue).

I've done almost everything you can think of to try and bring it back to life. But now I've quit and decided to buy a sound card instead.

I'm currently using a very cheap USB sound card. I can hear clearly that the sound quality is not very good, and from what I understand, USB sound cards uses some CPU cycles.

While looking around, I've found some good cards on PCI-e (in need the other PCIs, so that's not an option).

But what caught my attention is an OEM X-Fi Go. Its USB and seems to not use CPU cycles, so that's a plus.

So, what do you experts recommend? Go with a PCI-e 1x or the X-Fi Go?

I like PCIe as it doesn't eat up one of my USB ports.
Also, this is a nice guide, follow it and you'll get what is best for you /given your preferences / budget/>

Yeah, that guide shows that PCI-e cards are way more expensive than PCI cards.

The X-Fi Go Pro is looking way better now.
