Hi

I have HP G62-460tu notebook. Now I have one 2gb ram installed in my notebook. but I'm looking for upgrading ram. I want to know does it any performance difference between if i install one 4gb ram, then total will be 6gb or remove the 2gb and install 2x4gb rams ? Whis is better ?

Help me....

The more RAM, the better, obviously.
I concur with what is mentioned in the above quote by Madn3ss795. Well, 2 x 4GB is the best option and this would enable your system to run in dual channel mode which is better, in paper (benchmarks) there is a slight difference in performance gain which usually ranges from 15%-20% over standard single channel setups (in your case 6GB - 4GB+2GB).

Compatible memory for HP G62-460tu laptop!!

In the end the choice is yours, if you are on a budget then 6GB would be okay else upgrading to 8GB wouldn't hurt I suppose :cheese:

P.S - Make sure you have a 64Bit OS.
