It is a HP Compaq DX2000 with the following specs:
Pentium 4 prescott 2.8A GHz socket 478 with some coolermaster heatsink
1 and a quarter GiB memory(3 256MiB DDR,1 512MiB DDR)
40GB 7200 rpm seagate IDE drive
Integrated Graphics
What can i do(except destroy it,donate it,MAME box,File server which i have one already of size 3TB for storage) with it?It however is very snappy with NLited XP installed. However there are already browsing machines which is much better(i3 540 and 2120,H57 and H61,2GB ram for both,500GB for both) so that is not needed. What can i do with it?I know it consumes a lot more power than an average computer now so is there really a use for it?there is also 2 spare samsung 80GB ide drive,1 20GB quantum fireball plus, and 1 quantum fireballl lct.Only this computer have ide and floppy ports.
Thanks in advance.

Really, the most I can think of is just throwing it out, or selling off the components as they are wanted. The rig really is too old to be useful, and the primary use of old PC's is being a fileserver/HTPC which you already have.
Maybe sell it off to someone who wants to learn how to work with PC's, there is a small market for that kind of thing.

Home automation, home server, NAS. You can install free NAS software http://www.nas4free.org/ and if you don't mind having a power hungry old PC stuffed away somewhere, you can use it as a home data storage system, and like Cosmin said, use it for home automation. Of course there are limitations for older PCs, especially ones using 32 bit OS, but that doesn't mean you can't find a use for it.
