Hello Everyone,

I have a GTX 670 and was planning on purchasing another for SLI to use with the Asus 27" PB278Q I just purchased for high fps and good times :). I realize that water cooling might be a smart option now that I have SLI to maintain nice temps especially if I overclock anything. I have seen these Arctic Accelero's and had already purchased one before I decided to buy another 670.

My case is the Haf X 942 and I have the Asus P8Z68-VPro motherboard. The mobo has 3 slots between the two cards and I've been reading that these coolers will take up around 2-3 slots.

I had a couple questions:

1. Is it possible to use the AC Accelero on one card and air cool the other? I know aesthetically this won't look good nor will I be helping the air cooled card...but haven't seen that question proposed anywhere else so I figured I'd ask.

2. Will using two of the AC Accelero's in my current case/mobo work? Has anyone used this combo of case, mobo and cooling at the same time before and how is it going for you?

3. Do I even really need water cooling? I like the closed loop idea cause of the low maintenance and I didn't want to get into serious open loop water cooling considering I've always been fine with just speeding up the stock fan on my GPU. I bought the accelero honestly for a paper I'm writing in a thermodynamics class and I wanted to get some temperatures and compare it to air cooling. I figured a side benefit will be better temps but now if I SLI I think I'm creating more issues.

Any help is needed. I have never water cooled, that's why I like these coolers due to the closed loop and ease of maintenance.

These are links to everything in case anyone hasn't seen these parts:

From reviews I have seen the accelero will take up nearly a third PCIe slot about 2 and a half I guess. I would think assuming the slots were far enough apart it very doable along with location to put the fan and radiator. I have the CM Storm Stryker and technically your HAF X should be even that much more accomodating so I would think sure why not right? I guess this comes down to your motherboard and how PCIe slots it has if there is one far down enough that would give you enough space from the one above then you should be golden!

no answers???

Well I'm thinking I'll just get the two cards and put the AC on one of them and see if it fits another card first of all and secondly how they run together with one on and one stock...if the stock one needs cooling I guess I could get one for that too.

Suggestions still appreciated :).
