OK so basically I'm a newb in overclocking.
So, does overclocking the GPU requires the CPU to be overclocked?
If that's not the case, is a H77 or B75 MoBo ok for GPU overclocking?

Also do you have to get more fans for overclocking the GPU?
If so, how do you place those fans?

Also I'm planning to use a MATX MoBo (most likely)

overclocking gpu and cpu are independent.

there are certain boards that allow overclocking, although as far as i know you can oc a bit with other chipsets as well.

as for the fans, well, overclocking will introduce more heat so adding fans will help.
for the cpu, you should get 3rd party coolers (lots of choices here)
for the gpu, i dont advice changing coolers since it voids warranty (but if you want to you can do that)

just watch your temps and voltages and you should be fine. read read and read guides online

Well I don't mean changing the fans but rather adding side panel fans or something to help with the airflow.
Anyways, can anyone make a confirmation on whether GPU OCing works on B75 and H77 board?
BTW I'm gonna use HD7850 if that makes any difference.

Thank you.

i dont usually oc gpu's but as far as i know it is not dependent on the chipset that you have. download the application to oc it and see.

just to get you started. if this was cpu then it is dependent on the chipset also. adding more fans should help

I wanted to overclock my graphics card, not my CPU
I don't really plan on OCing my CPU anyways and yes i know i need a Z-series for that.
