Ok, here goes
A few months ago I decided to get a USB 3.0 PCI card for my ageing Dell PC, I also got a USB 3.0 card reader to go with it, as I wanted a port on the front of the PC as well as keeping the usefulness of a card reader. The one I went for is the Icy Box IB-865. The USB 3.0 port works fine on it, but when I put my 4GB SDHC card in it, it descends into chaos...
On two occasions now, it has completely corrupted the whole SD card, and I had to use data recovery software to get back my files, it happened when I tried to access the files. Windows Explorer stopped responding then died altogether. Today I plugged the SD card in, and it couldn't even load the thumbnails, and then killed Windows Explorer again. Luckily the data survived though.
The card reader uses a 19-pin USB 3.0 header plugged into the PCI card.
Any ideas what is happening?
I am running Windows 7
Also the SD card works fine in the camera and other computers
Thanks
