I built a computer a while ago with the following specifications

550 Watt Corsair PSU 80+ certified
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004

Gigabyte mobo GA-880GA-UD3H
http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3758&dl=1#sp

and a phenom II 965 Deneb BE

i was wondering if i could add a wireless adapter to this and have internet without a wired connection?
and i found a few adapters but what is the difference between USB 2.0 and PCI? in terms of speed
and is there a noticeable difference in speed between USB 2 and 3.0?

my internet service is Cox- 12Mbps down 2Mbp up

Thank you for the help

USB connects to a port on the outside, PCI connects to a slot on the inside. Either will work. And you probably won't notice any difference in speed between the two.

Buy a recognized name, and you'll be fine.

USB 2 vs USB 3 won't really matter for a WiFi device.
