A simple miniDP-to-DVI cable will do the same with much better quality, even tough i'm not sure the Surface Pro supports the full resolution.
Yes, that came to my mind too, but what about the Dual-Link DVI cable my monitor is using?
Is there such a thing as "miniDP-to-DVI Dula-Link" cable?
Google finds only adapters, but not cables.
Well, the real problem seams to be: "The good news is that the Surface Pro supports up to 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution on an external display" (
http://reviews.cnet.com/microsoft-surface-pro/). Even if the dual-link works, it doesn't support the full resolution. Anyway: if there is no cable, a dp-to-dvi adapter should do. I would simple prefer the adapter on the monitor side for better handling.
