This is my first time building a rig, so I really have no idea what I'm doing. This build is just a rough idea of what I want, so any input would be helpful.
I'm planning to switch the i7 3770k to a 4770k as soon as it comes out (in a few days?). budget is around 2000$ give or take.

Thx

Remember you'll need a z87 board too. Do you really need 16gb? If so I'd get a 4x4gb kit rather than two separate kits. 780 is pretty overpriced. Might look at the 770 and if it doesnt meet your needs add another.

HI, first, thx for taking a look. I really have no idea how mother boards work, so can you elaborate on what you mean. Are the cpu and board not compatible? As for the ram, from what I hear, 8 gb is enough, but since these things are so cheap, and the D-14 would probably make it really hard to install more, Im just going with 16. As for the Gtx780, what can i say, i fell for those frames...

Z77 goes with 3770, z87 goes with 4770 (cannot fit the new cpu into the current mobo).

If u want 16, 2x8gb of low profile corsair would be even better. I should have said that to begin with...

With the 780 u pay 62.5% more for a max of 20% more frames, sometimes less, than the 770. With a single 24" monitor the 770 is plenty. But... It's your dime and will be very nice.
