Microphone picks up sound from computer, not voice (Windows 7)

Hi, I have a Sennheiser 360 PC headset and the microphone is very problematic. I have the proper jacked put in the correct port (Pink) and my computer recognizes it as a mic in the recording devices. Programs like audacity and vocaroo recognize the mic as well. The problem is that the mic records not my voice or any sound when speaking in to the mic, but sounds from the computer. So if I play music, or listen to a video, it will record those instead. I have heard Stero Mixer can be the problem, and I have it disabled but it does not do anything.

That's what the Recording tab looks like.

Can anyone help? This is quite frustrating.

If this helps at all, I noticed that the mic jack for this headset seems to go with output noise of my computer regardless of whether the headset portion is plugged in. I still have no idea if this is a hardware problem for my headset or the Realtek audio drivers (Which I have reinstalled but has not fixed the problem).
