Building my first ever desktop and been donated an old case, hard drive, and optical drive (rest was rubbish). The hard drive seem okay (Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320 GB) and only need optical drive to install OS, so not too worried about it. But the case is very old and the previous owner acquired it while in korea without any logos/markings/serials/etc so I can't tell what it is, does have nice big fans though. Anything change in past ten years where a slightly shady case might be worth replacing?

Otherwise below is my build plan, have monitor, keyboard, mouse, optical drive, hard drive, and the aforementioned case. Anything that would be a problem with my build?

CPU: AMD FX-6300 ______ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YORK/?tag=pcpapi-20

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD ______  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128565&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Memory: Patriot Signature DDR3 2x4 GB ______ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004JKNJ0U/?tag=pcpapi-2PSU: Corsair 500 watt ___ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

GPU: EVGA GTX 650 Ti 2GB ______ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130841&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

OS: Win 8 OEM

Going for fairly low budget, above runs $500. I somewhat question if the GTX 650 is worth getting in 2GB or if, considering the rest of build, that extra GB would never come into play.

College student, so $50 is something I won't throw away if I don't gain anything from it. All I see is the gain of some front usb ports and I can live without those.

Then sure. The old case will probably work. Nothing to lose trying it.
