How can you max out V-RAM?

So when I was looking for a graphics card for a new build I see that cards like the GTX 690 has 4gb of V-RAM, and the Titan with 6gb, but then I read about of games maxed out with 4K texture packs using a lot but how can you max out a Titan with 6gb? (without using a benchmark software)

Solution
the easiest way to try is add multiple monitors. adding monitors increases the ram the card will use, then add a ram hog of a program and you could come close. I read an article that someone did and I believe it was Toms, but I can't seem to find it, about this exact subject.

EDIT: let me be a bit more specific on the monitors, I am referring to 6 monitor setups.

I am not sure if I understand what you are meaning by 'maxing out vram'.

The point is you can't really control how much VRAM your gpu would use when you play a game or run benchmark softwares. The higher your system resolution is, the higher the vram usage would get(eg. 2560x1440/ 5760x1440). It also depends on the game settings, resolution, texture and AA settings.

I will watch it again maybe tonight. I may have been mistaken maybe he didn't say that during the unboxing video of the seiki 4k tv. Interesting even though he never said all of the 6gb was used but it seems like max payne would use it all if turning everything on max. Personally I ordered a titan on ebay it was a fraud case then when I was credited I bought a 690 and now another fraud. So newegg will get ny money for I guess a 690 since everyone recommends taking the fps over the vram. Regardless I'm wondering exactly what the op is asking.

At about 41 min he got to 3.6 memory usage with no aa or vsync on high settings and I'm not sure if it goes up to extreme or gamer? Anyway seems reasonable to anticipate 5.

7680x1440 play skyrim with all the hi res texture packs, increase the draw distance of ugrids to 7 and turn on 8xmsaa. Im sure it gets as close as you can get with current games. Doubt it hits any limit though.
