I have a HTPC with a ASRock z77 Pro4-M Motherboard. 2 x Twin 2250 Hauppauage tuners. One tuner in the PCIe X 1 slot which works perfectly and the second in a PCIe X16 slot which loses connectivity after a certain time or after being in sleep mode. Rebooting the PC is the only way to re connect. Anybody understand why this is happening. I'm thinking of upgrading my Motherboard to one that has duel PCIe X 1 slots, does anybody think this will make a difference.

Having that card in a x16 slot is a waste, have you tried putting in to the 3rd full size slot, which will probably be limited to x4/x8 speeds and may cure the issue?

I can't remeber if sleep signal for onboard VGA also goes to first x16 slot and that is causing issue.

Motherboard has Three X16 slots and one X 1 slot. I have tried putting both in the X16 slots and both fail. I am currently using the 4th slot (x16) and the second (x1) The only one that never fails is the one in the X1 slot. I am using the onboard VGA and don't have any cards in the First and third slots. Any opinion on buying a motherboard with duel X1 slots
