I was getting back into wow when there was a problem and when I repaired the game client it still didn't work, a blizzard employee had me download the latest nvidia update for my specific card and Driver Sweeper then clean the contents of all my nVidia checkboxes, and if asked to reboot select yes.

My computer rebooted, with a blank screen.. I waited and all of a sudden heard the Windows welcome sound play yet I couldn't see anything.

I disconnected my GPU, which is an nvidia GTX 660 ti then plugged in my onboard video connection and logged in nicely.

Then I came up with another problem... I tried installing the latest drivers but it came up with "no video card detected" and closed.

So I googled more, found a thread where a guy had the same problem and his solution was fixed by installing the drivers from his original CD

I tried this, and got an error message stating "please install VGA by ASUS". I googled and found a solution stating the guy had to boot into safemode then try wiping everything nvidia before plugging the gpu in and trying a fresh install.

I tried booting into safemode and it just freezes at "loaded classpnp.sys". I tried doing a chkdsk and it just freezes at the end of the countdown.

I tried doing a system recovery (the only one available in the list) which is from two nights ago but I then get the error stating 0x80070570 and including the name of a file to do with nvidia or something (wish i wrote it down).

I am freaking out right now as I have a LAN party coming up this weekend and deadline for work is tomorrow, without my GPU I can't do anything at all.

I'm currently running my computer fine with no problems, with the gpu not plugged in running intel graphics (eww).

Oh, I also have Windows 7 x64

Not sure if you did this already or not, but do this in the following order: shut down, take the card out, unplug the power cord from the computer for several seconds, then re-seat the card, plug the computer back in, then start. See if that works. I have found that to work for me in the past when I had trouble getting a display on a new card.

I think you will need to boot safe mode to get it fixed up. How long did you wait? I find loading files can take while.

Normally what you would do is:
Boot safemode
Go to device manager and uninstall any display drivers
Reboot
Run NVidia install again

I already did this, I'm currently running my computer without the GPU installed, if it is installed it is a black screen.

It doesn't go into safemode, tried three times and waited for half an hour on the one file load.
