Hello everyone. I am currently planning to purchase a GTX 780 to replace my good old GTS250. Other specs include an i7 870(or 920 can't remember :p), 6GB RAM (3x2gb), X58 motherboard and 2TB HDD. As it is more than troublesome to unplug all the wires and take it out of the desk, I couldn't check what is the power of the PSU. After my research on the HP product list, I believe it is somewhere between 450W to 500W. Do I need to replace a PSU if I am to replace my GTS 250 with GTX 780?

Thanks

Apart from that explosion, can bad PSU do any harms to other hardware like RAM, CPU, HDD, GPU, etc.?? D:

Hmm... I will probably buy from an online retailer www.taobao.com (which is sort of like a combination of eBay and Amazon). Some PSU there are cheap as hell but you know, made in China and probably gonna explode lol.

But thanks for the effort!!

You can also check the price of PSU in Hong Kong at price.com.hk , it's not an online retailer buy allows retailers to update their products information so that customers can have a peek before they come. Anyway, I think PSU in Hong Kong are quite expensive due to the general higher price level in Hong Kong.

Lol but in the comment section there was a guy complaining that one of the capacitors in his CX600 has melted down and made lots of fume, and he warned that don't buy this model.

But wow that PSU is MUCH MUCH cheaper in Hong Kong than www.taobao.com

I know right? Thanks a lot man, one day I will just buy a CX600 as you recommend. Now all I have to do is to wait for the Inno3D iChill GTX 780 to come out
