I5-3450 and a MSI B75A-G41, too risky to OC? Hyper 212 evo.

Its not impossible, "FSB" speed can be increased on most boards. Its just NEVER suggested.

PLEASE stop making me correct you...

The Z75 can OC too by the way.

Gigabyte GTX 660 OC Windforce(I think windforce II)
2x4 GB 1333 mhz ddr3 XMS3 CL9 Corsair
I5-3450
OCZ 500W ModXStream series.
24" DELL U2412M Ultrasharp IPS
MSI B75A-G41

That's all needed I guess.
So, I cant OC it? :p

You can, just don't. LOL. :D

Anyway. What games are you wanting more FPS in? And what FPS are you getting?
You do realize that the chances are that you need a more powerful graphics card to get better FPS and not a better CPU?

Yes but about 10% at maximum and Z75 is quite rare to be seen.

And yea my head is running wild today. Better take a rest.

10% is a lot. LOL. Anyway, yes go rest. Before I start raging at you. :D

Wow, I can "adjust cpu ratio" to 35, means 3,5 ghz. And I think its running on 3,5 ghz all the time then. Vcore on auto tho.. I tried 3,3 now, I'll try 3,5.

If I set it to 3,5 ghz, will it run 3,5 ghz on all cores in games? Will the turbo get it to 3,9 ghz? no? Seems like its only 3,5 ghz, but still, 3,5 ghz 24/7 in games is not bad xD

That is what I suggested in my first reply. And its perfectly safe, but its not an overclock. It won't go over 3.5.
Keep in mind with your cooler the CPU will be at 3.5 under load the whole time automatically anyway, intel Turbo is designed to do that.
So it won't help you gain extra performance. But yeah, answer my questions.

I was just curious to get some higher min fps, but its not rly needed, 39 min fps on pretty high settings in GW2 in Lion's arch, where alot of ppl are. Lagged hell on my FX-4100@ 4,7 ghz haha :p
I5-3450 is enough for me.

If I turn off intel turbo boost, will I be able to run at 3,5 ghz more often if I have the "CPU ratio on 35, 3,5 ghz?

Hmm, I adjusted it to 35, 3,5 ghz, but in open hardware monitor, it only shows 3,3 ghz is the highest, why's that? :s

Alright, this is what I did, should I keep this you think?

"Adjust CPU ratio" Puted it on 35 (3,5 ghz)
Puted DDR3 to 1600 mhz.
Seted vcore and DRAM voltage to auto.
"Intel turbo boost" - Enabled.

Should I keep it?
I heard something about that intel turbo boost only gets to 3,3 ghz if all 4 cores is used, even tho its turbo is 3,5 ghz, thats why I asked if I should turn of the intel turbo boost so that maybe all 4 cores uses 3,5 ghz, hmm.. :p

True, but not when you have an aftermarket cooler. But yeah, keep those settings. Perfectly fine. Just make sure the RAM is stable at 1600MHz. Prime95 for 1 hour should do it.

i have my i5 2400 @ 3.5ghz all cores and i've benched it @ 3.8. Non K cpu's can be overclocked 400mhz beyond turbo meaning i can achieve 3.8 max, but my z68 board allows the multi to be put at x 40 max meaning i COULD hit 4ghz with an i5 2400.

I really wanna get mine to about 3,7 - 3,8 ghz, how could I? :p

I have the MSI-B75A-G41 mobo.

Or I could simply go without the turbo and have 3,5 ghz all the time, because it hasnt get to 3,5 ghz according to openhardwaremonitor. I really want to be sure it uses 3,5 ghz on all cores! :D

Maybe it hasnt been at 3,5 ghz yet because the cpu havent reach full load yet, only 87,7% :p

Exactly. You can not get more than 3.5GHz without changing you FSB speed. Which you SHOULD NOT DO.

im not sure with B75, z68 or z77 have easy options in BIOS for o/cing. Also manual vcore is IMO a must for o/c ing non K cpu's as auto usually sets some whack numbers. My vcore @ 3.5 is 1.16 manual

Even OCCT, 100% load shows only 3,3 ghz, so it's true then, intel turbo boost will only use 3,3 ghz on all 4 cores.

Will all 4 cores use 3,5 ghz if I disable turbo boost? As I have CPU ratio on 3,5 ghz.

Try it and see. I think its just a missread somewhere.

Lol, didnt help, well its 3,3 ghz maximum then. Whatever, I'm very pleased with the performance of an I5 anyways :D
Min FPS is enough but I was thinking about the future xD
