sound problem in xp

I have xp sp3. In dxdiag sound1 and sound2 a error is coming. failure at step 19 (user verification of software) . I am unable to hear sounds.
But I can hear music in dxdiag. Recently updated realtek hd audio driver. Facing the issue thereafter.

You either updated the wrong driver or the new driver has problems with OS.
Why did you update from earlier Working version ? You can go to control panel, system, device manager & click on Realtek Audio, Driver Tab, Roll Back driver. It should revert to the old working driver.
