Hello,

I just bought my first SSD. It is Intel SSD 520 Series 120GB. But, I think the speed is slower than mentioned on the Intel website.

This is the Sequential Read/Write from Intel Website for 520 Series 120 GB :
SATA 6Gb/s = 550 MB/s / 500 MB/s
SATA 3Gb/s = 280 MB/s / 260 MB/s

But, the speed that I get from SSD benchmarks is lower than that.
Although, I have set the SATA mode to AHCI in UEFI BIOS.

Here is my SSD Benchmarks (I use ATTO, CrystalDiskMark, HDTune, AS SSD):

Is these speeds are normal or slow ?
Please let me know.

I hope anyone can help me..
Thanks.

And Here is my PC spec :
Processor : Core i7 3770 3.4GHz

actually I do note that the scores improve drastically between your first and second test in crystal, have you given it a few hours of activity to wear it in yet?

NO...
CrystalDiskMark has 3 options.

First is default
Second is 0Fill
Third is 1Fill

But, I dunno what its means...
But, it has different benchmark results.
Can you help me ?
Thanks.

Best take it extra strong.. you need it :p

In regards to the SSD being slower than advertised, ask Intel for an appropriate test of the SSDs speed. I'll be amazed if they do not have a recommended benchmark to use. Use the software, and then if your results are still slower than advertised wait a week or so, put some use on it. Just don't fill it up too much. Run the test again, if the speeds are still slower, ask for a refund, or a 256GB model (try to squeeze something out of them).

I have the same problem with the same drive.
I checked it with PerformanceTest - looks to me more reliable than Crystal.
I spent today 1 hour with Intel tech. support but didn't get any smarter...
