Hello everyone. I have a quick question. Will the Rosewill RCX-Z5-Ultra 92mm x 2 Two Ball + Long Life Sleeve CPU Cooler fit on my AMD Phenom x4 9600b Quad-Core socket am2+ Processor ? Found a deal on craigslist but hesitant to purchase as im not sure if it will fit.

You are right.
am2 & am2+ are similar sockets, only difference is chipset & architecture

Thank you everyone for your replies. I think at this point, 20 bucks is worth a gamble. I just checked my old cpu cooler and the thermal paste has worn off, so in the very least I should be able to repair that.

Yes. For $20, I'd give it a shot.

If you removed your existing cooler, you should really re-apply the paste before using it again. You shouldnt lift the sink without doing that; you introduce air bubbles and can drastically reduce the cooling efficiency.

What do you mean by "thermal paste has worn off"?

Yeah it's apparent, however the reason I removed the old cooler was because I wanted to understand why the sudden spike in temperature. The compound that came with my coolermaster cpu cooler was already applied to the heat-sink, it is cheap, ineffective and is now barely adequate to serve it's purpose. "Thermal paste has worn off" - Upon the cooler's removal I noticed that very little of the compound remained, possibly from overheating in several instances. I will say one thing about AMD's processors - very durable.
