Hello All,
Here's my situation. I have a Dell Precision T5400 running Win 7 Pro 64 bit that I just bought a solid state drive for. Before, I had two 7200 RPM HDD's; the second drive, (listed as H:, if that helps) was loaded up with Ubuntu 12.04. Apparently, the installation of Ubuntu installed a bootloader onto the original C: drive for the H: drive for some reason; thus, the original HDD will not boot without the Ubuntu drive present.
I used EaseUS Todo Backup Free 6.0 to clone Windows to the SSD, but now it won't boot. I think it has something to do with the bootloader that's installed. I bought the machine used, so I don't have a recovery disk for it (well, actually I do, but it's for 32bit Windows. Since I have a 64-bit system with 12GB RAM, you can see why that's not feasible.) How can I safely migrate my Windows Partition to the SSD and ensure that it boots properly? I'm willing to lose Ubuntu for now and re-install it later if I have to.
