Hello, I have a little big problem with my new PC gamepad. I've never had one before so the reason for my problem might be a stupid one but as I said I am new to this. The problem is that my RS is not working properly. Rather not working at all. By which I mean that when I turn it around it simply actions the X, Y, A, B buttons (as the buttons are commonly known for the XBOX controllers). So for example when I turn it left it activates the X button, turning it to the right activates the B button and so on.

I just bought it so if this is a factory related problem I would like to know so I can take it back. I have tried using it in multiple games (FIFA 13, PES 13, Counter-Strike: Global Operations, Assassin's Creed 2 etc.) and got the same results. Tested it in "Devices and Printers" software and it really does show that when I use the RS it actually activates those buttons. Also calibrating had no effect.
Thank you for your time. Also english is not my mother language so please excuse me if there are any mistakes.

L.E: I forgot to mention the model: MaxFire Grandias 12 http://www.geniusnet.com/wSite/ct?xItem=16787&ctNode=16... also if anybody can tell me what's the deal with that Analog / Digital mode button I'd be thankful.

I don't know about your first problem, but i can explain the analog/digital bit.
Basically, when using the joystick, you can move it slightly or all the way. In a game, how much you move it will make the character move faster, or make a car turn harder. This is analog mode.
In digital, it's either on or off. It's like using the arrow keys on your keyboard. You are either moving at full speed or are completely stopped. You car will always go perfectly straight or turn the exact same angle.

let me get this right:

when you move the right analog stick.. for clarification picture of analog stick:

instead of acting like a joystick in either analog or digital mode where it inputs directional commands it instead inputs the commands from the right side buttons..for clarification picture of action buttons:

am i correct?

did the controller come with any software or drivers? if so install them and or open them up and see what the options are set to.

what it sounds like to me is that the analog stick directions are set to the same commands as the action buttons. the left and right analog sticks should be set to be the left and right analog sticks. in general every single button or action on the keypad should be a seperate command. this photo may not be an accurate representation of the program you need to use however it shows you what i am talking about.

i personally have never used one of the game controllers you can buy for windows so cannot comment on how well windows handles setup of such controllers or what type of drivers come with them. what i have done is use my ps3 controllers and connected them via bluetooth or usb cable and used motioninjoy a 3rd party application to map the keys. i have heard of xbox controllers being used with the computer as well. if you already have a game console (ps3 or xb360) i would suggest using the controllers you already have.

i believe what andrew_berge stated about analog and digital is true. analog mode is good when you need to be able to control speed and direction such as character movement or camera movement. digital is good when you want to map the analog stick to command buttons or in certain games for movement such as pacman where direction matters and speed is constant.

in short... i think you need to use the drivers and map your keys

hope this gives just a little bit of insight.

Problem solved. Yes "ssddx" that was exactly my problem. It seems somehow the problem was related to the Analog / Digital function of the gamepad. I was able to configure it to work properly while in ANALOG mode for some reason. While on digital it could only set the RS as I previously said. While in Analog it finally allowed me to configure it. Anyway. Thanks for your answer. Due to your respons about analog / digital I tried this. Thanks a lot guys ^^
