More about firewire port motherboard
  1. It is used for connecting devices like handycams.
  2. It is similar to USB I use, just a different specifications (IEEE1394). Firewire predates Usb and is faster than USB2. However USB 2 was more popular ad USB3 performance surpassed Firewire, Hense Firewire is premuch dieing out except for Older devices..
