Ok its not really a upgrade since my system is fairly new since March of this year. Im currently using a Ivy i5 3570k w/ a Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 mobo.

I got a brand new Sandy bridge- extreme 3930k brand new for $190 that I figured I would just try to resell and make money since a z79 mobo starts at $250 and up: 250+190= 440

But with the new haswell extreme setup, it got me thinking. At my local microcenter I can get a 4770k haswell cpu for $280 and with their $40 off mobo deal with new cpu set up, I can get the Z87 Asrock Extreme 4 motherboard for $150 making that $430 for both. I can sell my 3930k for $400 and breakeven.

Obviously If i went to the Haswell setup, I would wait to sell my 3930k before and then sell my current 3570k/ extreme 4 setup after.

In your opinion, Should I upgrade to 3930k or Haswell setup?

I would agree. From the benchmarks I have seen it is like 10-15% difference in performance. In my opinion it is not worth it. Sell the extra components and then use the money for upgrading something in your current rig. Maybe a new GPU or such. the i5 3570K has the performance to do what every you need at this time I would not worry about it.

I would say the same thing as the other posters who have replied in this thread. Don't waste money for a minor performance increase. Instead get a new GPU when you can afford to do so. A 3930K is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a CPU when most games don't really make use of the extra cores.

If you are gaming you will see no performance increase at all.
If the primary use of your PC is encoding, encrypting or other things that require amazing multithreaded performance, then you will see a nice just going to the 3930K.
The 4770K shouldn't even be up for consideration.
