How is this build? Intel or AMD ($1500)

Intel Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/12ek7

AMD Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/UnexceptionalJew/saved/1Aov

I'm not really sure what build I should choose for my build later this summer. Im leaning towards the AMD just because it is a bit cheaper and I feel its gonna last me longer because of its 8 core processors. I am going to be doing some hardcore gaming on this rig and I want it to last me. Somewhere around 3-4 years im hoping. Another question, on the Intel build should I swap out that AsRock board for a MSI Z87-GD65? I really would like some advice on these builds. Anything is helpful.

depends... they both will be pretty high performance. The intel will bench better... assuming you don't get a dud... though not by much, the fx benches prety good under a solid overclock. The intel will game better... though i doubt you'll notice...

I think you can do better for the same cash... a lot better; like, you probably could get a 780 into a 1500 build pretty easily. and that would pound both of those builds pretty badly.

Can you make a AMD build on pcpartpicker with the 780 please?

If it was me, I'd strip away the expensive mouse and keyboard, since they aren't necessary and you can get better for cheaper (opinion) and invest in a better GPU. Also, since you got them both at pretty much the same price, I'd go with the Intel, although I noticed no water cooled CPU block on the Intel. I was gonna get a waterblock for my 8350 system because they seem pretty effective so it might be worth sticking with the AMD if you're into overclocking. Of course you can get a waterblock on the Intel, but like I said, you can get rid of the peripherals and get the watercooling over a better GPU. Gaming performance between the two is irrelevant as they'll both hit 60 - 150FPS or over (game dependent), 60 being is the maximum the average monitor/TV can actually refresh at so you're hardly going to notice the change in frames unless you have Fraps or the likes open constantly and care about the little number on the top. I agree it's nice to be getting the highest frame rate you've ever seen on a game but the monitor you're using can't always show it. My final verdict would be to keep the AMD, remove the mouse and keyboard completely and get cheaper ones from somewhere else (eBay or Amazon etc.) and get a better card.

sure... though i suspect you might want to look more intel at this price point. generally speaking i stop looking at amd chips around $800

the noctua will work as good as the water cooled systems, the 8320 overclocks as well as the 8350, and that motherboard is one of the best overclockers you can get for an asus mb (in the same class as the sabertooth)

you don't need 16gb of ram so i backed it down to 8gb... and you get to squeeze a 780 into your box. on the whole this will slaughter both of your builds.
