If you're looking to build a primarily compute-oriented system, then you should really be looking at a professional-grade Quadro graphics card rather than a consumer-grade GeForce one. The consumer ones are usually deliberately "crippled" when it comes to computing, probably in order to prevent them eating into the professional market.

From what I know this is true. But they are really expensive. In the future I might go for a really really high end system, but for right now I am thinking with sticking with the 780 and having some fun with OCing and playing with the CUDAs :) Plus I play a lot of games on my pc.
