So I noticed after formatting my pc that my Apple Magic Mouse would freeze up and then beep when it came back to life (every 10 - 15 minutes).

I have now discovered that when scrolling on web pages especially, my soundcard makes some horrific noises (like a KRRRR KRRR). When browsing on a flash heavy website the impact is amplified ridiculously. The soundcard that seems to be having noise issues is a Creative Xtreme Gamer. I personally thought that it was dead (all my Creative cards died) however it seemed to be confusion as when I inserted it into this pc after laying around for two years, I found it still worked.. or at least that's what I thought. All PCI/PCI-E slots are now taken up.

Spec is below

OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2700K CPU @ 4.8GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7
Processor Count: 8
RAM: 16325 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series, -2048 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 122101 MB, Free - 40393 MB; D: Total - 99 MB, Free - 71 MB; E: Total - 943556 MB, Free - 334207 MB; F: Total - 953866 MB, Free - 140206 MB; G: Total - 343296 MB, Free - 39269 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., P8Z77-V
Soundcards: Asus Xonar Essence ST, Creative Xtreme Gamer

Please note that my Essence ST doesn't really have any of these problems, it only starts leaking a little too itself when the Xtreme Gamer is around.. is it just the XG card that is duff? I just slotted it in as it seemed to be a money saving idea.

Audio clip of the noise (I have amplified the overall sound a little so it's easier to hear) http://picosong.com/FDCg

Thanks,
James.
