No GPU? I suppose that's why you opted for the A-series CPU :p

And oh christ, our avatars don't go very well :L

You know, I hadn't even noticed that. I'd definitely drop that for a GPU. Then in turn, I'd drop the A series for an FX series. Which, by the way, is wisdom that I obtained from you, DSzymborski :p

What are you using it for? If a gaming build, it's hard to justify the SSD on this budget.

Well i added the ssd because i wanted to install the OS on there, just for some extra speed. I'm planning on using it for gaming and the usual internet stuff.

Ahh, my friend. A GPU is much more important than an SSD. An SSD is always the last thing that you should include on a budget PC, after everything else is in place.

I'd definitely recommend that you drop the SSD in favour of a GPU :p

That makes sense i think i will. Any cheap yet effective GPUs ? Will it run in crossfire because of the onboard graphics ?

Only a HD 6670 can crossfire with an A8 5600k, so I'd recommend one of those :p

I won't ever complain about someone agreeing with me!

APUs can be a real boulevard of disappointment. Not because they don't have their uses, but that people can tend to overestimate just how much gaming they can get out of them!

If you're talking honest methods, if you're a student somewhere, you can usually get some kind of discount.

I won't lie to you; SSDs are really cool. But you've got a tight budget and at that price point, it's a luxury.

Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7770 1GB Video Card ($112.98 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.03 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($14.98 @ Outlet PC)
Total: $483.93
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-06-02 22:57 EDT-0400)

For slightly more than your current build (and still under $500), this system will perform better. Significantly better GPU and a motherboard that leaves you upgrade paths to FX series.
